My Journey to The Delish Food

From Professional Kitchen to Your Home

Cooking has been my life’s passion for over 15 years. What started as a curiosity in my grandmother’s kitchen evolved into a professional culinary career that took me through some incredible kitchens—from busy London restaurants to boutique catering operations. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned one fundamental truth: the best meals are made with love, not complexity.

I spent years watching home cooks feel intimidated by cooking. Families would stress about weeknight dinners. People assumed that creating restaurant-quality food at home required professional training or exotic ingredients. That’s when I realized something had to change.

Why I Started This Blog

When I became a father, my perspective shifted completely. I found myself in a modern kitchen with the same challenges every busy parent faces—limited time, hungry kids, and a desire to serve healthy, delicious meals. I started experimenting with recipes that were:

Quick and easy – because weeknight chaos is real

Family-friendly – even picky eaters would enjoy

Made with everyday ingredients – no hunting for specialty items

Actually tested – not just theory, but proven in my own kitchen

Honest and authentic – sharing both successes and failures

I realized thousands of families out there needed exactly this. The Delish Food was born from the desire to prove that anyone can create delicious, memorable meals at home—without the stress, without the complexity, and without feeling like a professional chef is required.

My Cooking Philosophy

Over the years, I’ve developed a clear philosophy about food and cooking:

🍳 Simplicity Over Complexity

The best recipes don’t require a 20-ingredient shopping list or specialized equipment. Give me simple, quality ingredients and clear instructions, and magic happens in the kitchen.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family First

Food is about bringing people together. Every recipe I share has been tested with real families—children included. If it’s not practical for everyday cooking, it doesn’t make the cut.

🇬🇧 Respect for Tradition

I have tremendous respect for British cooking traditions and chefs like Mary Berry who brought classic recipes into modern home kitchens. I love recreating these timeless dishes but also adding my own twist and modern flair.

📚 Honest, Transparent Approach

I believe in sharing the truth about recipes—what works, what doesn’t, and how to fix it if things go wrong. Cooking should be forgiving and fun, not stressful.

Mary Berry Inspired Recipes

I’m a big admirer of Mary Berry’s approach to cooking—accessible, doable, and always delicious. Many of my recipes are inspired by her philosophy, sometimes recreating her classics, sometimes putting my own spin on traditional British fare.

A Personal Note

This blog represents my mission: to make delicious, home-cooked food accessible to every family.

I believe that cooking should be a source of joy, not stress. That feeding your family well doesn’t require a culinary degree or a mansion kitchen. That the best meals are shared with people you love, and those memories are worth far more than restaurant experiences.
